Yatseniuk launches gas pipeline for reverse supplies from Slovakia

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has attended the ceremony to launch the Vojany-Uzhgorod gas pipeline in the Slovak town of Velke Kapusany, which will ensure reverse gas supplies to Ukraine, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers has reported.
“My answer to President [Vladimir] Putin for his tough statement on this reverse flow: gas has no labels. It’s just gas. If we pay the money, then someone ensures its transit and someone buys it,” Yatseniuk said.
The prime minister noted that the opening of the pipeline “is not a final decision, but it is a huge step forward.”
“Ukraine can now state that along with our Slovak friends and the European Commission we have taken the first step towards diversification of energy supply and reduction of energy dependence,” he said.
