Withdrawal of artillery to begin after December 26 – Rozmaznin

The mechanism of implementation of the Minsk memorandum after the first stage – the silence mode – foresees the withdrawal after December26 of artillery systems of 100 mm caliber and above to create a 30-km security zone.
A representative of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Major-General Oleksandr Rozmaznin, said this at a meeting with foreign journalists in Debaltseve, the press service of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry reported.
“We are working on the unconditional implementation of the Minsk memorandum. The first stage is observing the silence mode. After December 26, we will proceed to the next stage that means the withdrawal of artillery systems of 100 mm caliber and above for a fixed distance. Thus, the 30-km security zone will be formed,” he said, talking about the work of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination regarding the ceasefire and stabilization of the line of contact between the conflicting parties.
