Violations reported at one-third of construction sites in Ukraine

Since the beginning of the year, State Architectural and Construction Inspectorate of Ukraine (Derzharkhbudinspektsiya) has held over 18,000 verifications of compliance with city planning legislation by builders, revealing violations at 5,800 sites, which is 20% more year-over-year, the press service of the department has reported.

”In January-September 2016, Derzharkhbudinspektsiya carried out more than 18,000 scheduled and unscheduled inspections of construction projects. At 5,800 sites, it revealed violations of city planning legislation, which is 20% more than the same period last year.Thus, violations were reported at one-third of all construction sites in Ukraine. Violators were fined for a total sum of UAH 205.8 million,” the report says.

It is also reported that Derzharkhbudinspektsiya has issued 3,800 licenses to engage in economic activity in the construction sector for nine months of 2016, which is 31% more than the same period last year. The largest number of licenses was issued in Kyiv – 1,300, in Dnipropetrovsk region – 423, and in Kyiv region – 359.
