Verkhovna Rada does not accept Yatseniuk’s resignation

The Verkhovna Rada at an extraordinary meeting on July 31 did not support the resignation of Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk, a Ukrinform correspondent has reported.
Only 16 MPs voted for Yatseniuk’s resignation, with at least 226 votes required. In particular, his resignation was not supported by 109 MPs, two abstained from voting, and 184 MPs did not vote.
Today’s parliament meeting was held behind closed doors, but the question of Yatseniuk’s resignation was considered in open mode.
As reported, on July 24, Yatseniuk tendered his resignation due to the breakup of the coalition in parliament, and due to the refusal of the Verkhovna Rada to support government initiatives on budget cuts and reform of Naftogaz of Ukraine.
