US, Canada cancel joint military exercises with Russia over situation in Ukraine

The authorities of the United States and Canada have canceled the Vigilant Eagle joint military exercise with Russia due to the situation in Ukraine.
North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) spokesman Sgt. Charles Marsh told this to U.S. newspaper Fairbanks Daily News-Miner.
He said that the decision to suspend the exercise, at least for 2014, had been taken by U.S. Department of Defense officials and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
