UN Security Council may meet to discuss situation in Ukraine by weekend – Serheyev

The next meeting of the UN Security Council to discuss the issue of Ukraine may take place at the end of this week, tentatively on Friday.
Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN, Ambassador Yuriy Serheyev noted in a comment to a special correspondent of Ukrinform in Washington.
“A meeting of the UN Security Council is planned on Ukraine (but still a final decision is not made),” the ambassador said, noting that the meeting was being prepared most likely for Friday.
According to him, a briefing is planned in the context of the report of the Monitoring Group of the High Commissioner for Human Rights on the situation in this sphere in Ukraine. At the same time, Serheyev specified, that the matter concerns a report, approved on November 20. The next report, according to him, is scheduled for December 15.
At the same time, the ambassador said that “the debate in the UN Security Council will be conducted not only on the report itself, but also on the situation in Ukraine as a whole.”
