Ukrzaliznytsia railroad operator plans to open a new Intercity route from Kyiv to Mykolayiv

Ukrzaliznytsia railroad operator intends to launch Intercity train on the route from Kyiv to Mykolayiv, a southern port city 133 kilometers northeast of Odesa.
Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kava who manages railroad sector reported the news in an interview with news portal ZTS.
“We are now considering the possibility of launching Intercity express train made up from cars with locomotive and diesel traction between Kyiv and Mykolayiv.
Kava also said, according to preliminary estimates, the travel time of the new express train will be about five and a half hours.
