Ukrainians protesting against Poland`s suspension of small border traffic with Ukraine

On Monday morning, residents of three districts of Lviv region partially blocked the traffic near the Ukrainian-Polish border checkpoints, protesting against the suspension by Poland of the small border traffic with Ukraine, head of the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv region Svitlana Dobrovolska told an UNIAN correspondent.
She noted that local residents of about 80-120 people (in each locality) gathered near the Shehyni checkpoint (Mostyska district), the Rava-Ruska checkpoint (Zhovkva district), and the Hrushiv checkpoint (Yavoriv district) blocking the traffic. At the same time, the protesters allow passage of emergency vehicles and charter buses. No violations of public order have been reported yet.
”Law enforcement officers and representatives of local authorities are raising awareness with the participants of the protests so that they stop the protests and do not interfere with the traffic,” Dobrovolska said.
According to the press service of the Western Regional Department of the State Border Guard Service, there were no car queues at the crossing points on the Ukrainian-Polish border (Lviv and Volyn regions) as of 11:30 on Monday.
