Ukrainian farmers export 1.4 mln tonnes of grain since July 1

Ukrainian farmers have already exported 1.4 million tonnes of grain since the start of the 2016-2017 marketing year, which began on July 1, 2016, according to the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry`s press service.
In particular, farmers have shipped 297,000 tonnes of wheat, 386,000 tonnes of maize, and 760,000 tonnes of barley abroad.
Wheat flour exports have totaled 8,300 tonnes.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine`s exports in the 2015-2016 marketing year were at a record high, according to preliminary estimates. Farmers exported 39.4 million tonnes against 34.8 million tonnes in the 2014-2015 marketing year.
The ministry projects that the gross yield of grain and leguminous crops this year will be up to 60 million tonnes. The USDA`s forecast for the yield of grain in Ukraine stands at 61.3 million tonnes.
Last year, Ukraine produced 60.1 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops, which was 5.8% down from the 2014 record of 63.8 million tonnes.
The data does not include reports from the temporarily occupied territory in Crimea and Donbas.
