Ukrainian Envoy urges Berlin to respond to German politician`s visit to occupied Crimea

Ambassador of Ukraine to the Federal Republic of Germany Andriy Melnyk urged the German Foreign Ministry to condemn the visit of a German politician Andreas Maurer to the Russian-occupied Crimea.
”In relation to the illegal visit of the member of Die Linke Party, Maurer, to the occupied Crimea, I called on the German Foreign Ministry to strongly condemn this and other such ventures,” Melnyk wrote.
Ukrainian diplomat also commented on Maurer`s statement over the intentions to recognize Crimea a Russian territory. ”Maurer`s statements Maurer on the recognition of the annexation of Crimea in the City Council of Quakenbrueck are nothing but a cheap trick: Die Linke party`s faction has ”as much as three mandates out of the 31,” said Melnyk.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine in April 2016 sent a protest note to the German Foreign Ministry due to uncoordinated visit of chairman of the youth wing of Alternative for Germany (AfD) party Markus Frohnmaier and MEP from this party Marcus Pretzell to the Russian-occupied territory of Crimea.
