Ukrainian day in the EU

Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk will hold the first meeting of the Ukraine-EU Association Council in Brussels and will discuss the resumption of Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic course.
This was reported by an Ukrinform correspondent in Brussels.
The Ukrainian day in Brussels coincided with a national strike in Belgium that blocked the work of all economic sectors, including transport. Therefore the Ukrainian government delegation will arrive in Brussels via Amsterdam.
In the morning, the head of the Ukrainian government will meet with a group of friends of Ukraine, which consists of 20 foreign ministers of the EU-countries.
Then, the foreign ministers will meet in the format of the EU Council, where they will also discuss the situation in Ukraine and may decide on tightening sanctions against the economy of Crimea, temporarily occupied by Russia.
In the afternoon, the Ukrainian prime minister will meet with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini and will chair the first meeting of the Ukraine-EU Association Council.
On Tuesday, December 16, Yatseniuk will speak about the priorities of the government activity in the Brussels-based European Policy Centre.
