Ukrainian banks see 66.7% decline in loss in 11 months, to UAH 19 bln according to the National Bank of Ukraine

Ukrainian banks` losses in January-November 2016 declined by 66.7% year-over-year, to UAH 18.884 billion, or US$719 million, according to the National Bank of Ukraine.

In the same period last year, the banks posted UAH 57.3 billion, or $2.18 billion, in losses.

The banks` losses in November 2016 alone were UAH 6.29 billion, while in the 11 months the banks posed revenue worth UAH 166.14 billion, the regulator reported. Expenses in January-November 2016 stood at UAH 185.03 billion.

As UNIAN reported earlier, total losses posted by Ukraine`s operating banks in January-October 2016 were estimated at UAH 12.6 billion, which was 76.8% down on the same period of 2015, when losses totaled UAH 54.5 billion.

In 2015, Ukraine`s banking system posted a record high loss of UAH 66.6 billion. This figure did not include insolvent banks` information.
