Ukrainian athletes won 49 medals over the four days of Paralympics

Ukrainian athletes won six gold medals on the fourth day of the Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and continue to rank third in the medal standings.

On September 11, the Ukrainians also won three silver and bronze medals.

A rower Roman Polianskyi, a sprinter Leilia Adzhametova, a tennis player Natalia Kosmina, and swimmers Yelyzaveta Mereshko, Denys Dubrov and Oleksii Fedyna won gold medals.

Silver medals were secured by Ukrainian swimmers Viktoriia Savtsova and Maksym Krypak, as well as a mace thrower Zoia Ovsii.

A long jumper Dmytro Prudnikov, swimmers Dmytro Vanzenko and Serhii Palamarchuk have won bronze medals.

Over the four days of the Paralympics, Ukraine boasts 49 medals – 18 gold, 13 silver and 18 bronze. The leader in the medal standings is China (39 gold medals), the UK team (23) ranks second. The U.S. (13), Brazil (6), and Uzbekistan (6) follow Ukraine.
