Ukraine`s statistics service improves grain harvest estimate for 2015

The State Statistics Service of Ukraine has released an updated estimate of the grain harvest in 2015, reporting that Ukraine`s yield was 60.1 million tonnes of grain after shelling (5.8% down on 2014), against a previous estimate of 59.96 million tonnes.
The yield of sugar beets in 2015 was 10.3 million tonnes, which was 34.3% down on the year before, the State Statistics Service said on its website.
The yield of sunflower seeds in 2015 was 11.2 million tonnes, exceeding the result in 2014 by 10.3%.
Last year Ukraine also harvested 20.8 million tonnes of potatoes, which was 12% down on 2014, and 9.2 million tonnes of other vegetables, which was 4.4% down.
As UaPosition reported earlier, Ukraine harvested 63.8 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops, which was 2.4% up on 2013, reporting a record high harvest since Ukraine`s independence.
