Ukraine`s State Fiscal Service to check reports on Poroshenko`s offshore firms

Head of Ukraine`s State Fiscal Service Roman Nasirov has instructed the service`s departments working with individuals to check media reports claiming that Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has allegedly founded three offshore asset management companies without mentioning them in his income declaration.
”Yesterday I instructed the State Fiscal Service`s individuals department to verify reports and find facts that we could check,” Nasirov said at a press conference.
As reported, according to an investigation by the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), which is based on documents from a Panamanian law firm, Mossack Fonseca, Poroshenko created three offshore companies for management of assets, including a confectionery corporation Roshen, without giving any details about this move in his report to tax services.
The Ukrainian Prosecutor General`s Office said later it saw no crime in the `Panama documents` of President Poroshenko`s offshore property published in the media.
