The aggregate loss of Ukraine`s operating banks, excluding the insolvent ones, amounted to UAH9.18 billion in the first half of 2016, according to a post on the National Bank of Ukraine`s (NBU) website.
Operating banks in Ukraine, in June, posted profits totaling UAH50 million, for the second consecutive month, the report said.
The regulator also stated that 78 banks made profits totaling UAH1.6 billion in June. The banks` net interest income in the reporting month amounted to UAH4.2 billion, while net fee and commission income stood at UAH2.2 billion.
Revenues of the Ukrainian banks in January-June 2016 declined by 13% year-on-year (y-o-y) to UAH88 billion, while expenses of the operating banks decreased by 25% y-o-y in the period under review to UAH 97.2 billion.
