Ukraine’s National Bank denied rumors to restrict its currency sale

The National Bank of Ukraine has no plans to restrict its foreign currency sales to banks whose clients have contracts on critical import.
The press service of the regulator reported the news on its Facebook page.
“The press service of the National Bank notes that information reported in the media about the alleged planned restrictions on currency sale only to banks whose clients have contracts on critical imports is not true,” the statement said.
As earlier reported, a number of media citing their own sources among the bankers wrote the regulator’s officials discussed new restrictions on foreign exchange market, including a ban on currency sale for all import, except for critical import, during a weekly meeting with the banking sector representatives on Monday.
