Ukraine’s grain exports could set record

In 2014-2015 marketing year, grain exports from Ukraine may grow by 2.9% and reach a record level of 32.9 million tons.
This was announced by chief of business projects department of IA “APK-Inform” Rodion Rybchynsky at the press conference in Ukrinform.
“At the end of 2014-2015 marketing year the grain exports could reach a record level of 32.9 million tons and surpass the results of the previous season (32.6 million tons) by 2.9%,” he said.
Rybchynsky noted that the forecasted wheat exports amount to 10.8 million tons, demonstrating growth of 16.4%. The forecasted barley exports amount to 3.65 million tons, demonstrating growth of 47.8%. “Corn exports will decrease by 8.8% to 18 million tons due to crop failure,” the expert said.
According to him, an increase in grain exports in the current marketing year “is predetermined with the record harvest of 61.4 million tons and the drop in domestic consumption by 0.8%.”
