Ukraine`s gas stocks in underground facilities grow to 9 bcm

The stocks of natural gas in Ukraine`s underground storage facilities grew by 96 million cubic meters (mcm) from May 14 to May 21, or 1.1%, to 9.019 billion cubic meters (bcm) from 8.923 bcm, according to the operator of Ukraine`s gas transport system, Ukrtransgaz.
The average daily volume of gas pumping into the underground storage stood at about 15.4 mcm as of May 21.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine stopped taking gas from its underground facilities due to the end of the heating season, and the gas stocks have been replenished since April 7.
In 2016, Ukraine plans to buy 11-13 bcm of natural gas from European suppliers. The country seeks to pump 8.2 bcm of gas to its underground gas storage facilities by the start of the next heating season.
