Ukraine`s gas stocks in underground facilities grow to 8.6 bcm

The stocks of natural gas in Ukraine`s underground storage facilities grew by 1.6% from April 11 to April 16, or 135 million cubic meters (mcm), to 8.595 billion cubic meters (bcm) from 8.46 bcm, according to the operator of Ukraine`s gas transport system, Ukrtransgaz.

The average daily volume of pumping gas for underground storage is about 16 mcm.

As UaPosition reported earlier, Ukraine stopped taking gas from its underground facilities due to the end of the heating season, and the gas stocks have been replenished since April 7.

In 2016, Ukraine plans to buy from 11 bcm to 13 bcm of natural gas from European suppliers.
