Ukraine`s forex reserves expand to US$17.6 bln

The foreign currency reserves of Ukraine as of today are US$17.6 billion, according to Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Oleg Churiy.

”Our international reserves are actively growing, mainly due to the purchase of foreign currency. As of today they make up $17.6 billion,” Churiy said on Thursday, May 25.

As UNIAN reported, Ukraine`s international reserves as of May 1, 2017, amounted to $17.175 billion which is 13.57%, or $2.052 billion, up from April 1.

According to the NBU`s forecasts, the NBU`s international reserves will be $21.1 billion at the end of 2017 and $26.2 billion at the end of 2018. However, it says, this indicator will continue to be dependent on further cooperation with the International Monetary Fund and on the receipt of disbursements under the IMF`s Extended Fund Facility.
