Ukraine’s foreign debt rose by 10.3% to $30.8 billion in 2014 – Ministry of Finance

The external debt of Ukraine rose by 10.3% or $2.877 billion in 2014 totaling $30.809 billion on December 31 (compared to $27.932 billion on December 31 in 2013).
This was stated by the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.
Direct domestic debt of Ukraine soared 1.8 times or by UAH 204 billion from UAH 256.96 billion USD ($32.148 billion) to UAH 461.004 billion ($29.236 billion). The volume of direct government debt rose by 97.2% or UAH 466.6 billion from UAH 480.219 billion ($60.08 billion) to UAH 946.819 billion ($60.045 billion) in 2014.
Debt guaranteed by the government amounted to UAH 153.745 billion or $9.75 billion on December 31, compared with UAH 104.151 billion or $13.03 billion on December 31, 2013.
State and state guaranteed debt as of December 31, 2014 amounted to UAH 1 100 564 000 000 or $69.795 billion (as of December 31 in 2013 – UAH 584.370 billion or $73.110 billion).
Additionally, the Verkhovna Rada increased the maximum amount of state debt limit in 2014 by 20% to UAH 968.4 billion at the end of December.
