Ukraine`s consolidated budget sees UAH 11.3 deficit in H1

Ukraine`s consolidated budget deficit in the first half of 2016 amounted to UAH 11.3 billion against a surplus of UAH 12.2 billion in the same period last year, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) said in its Inflation Report for July 2016, published on the regulator`s website.

According to the report, the consolidated budget posted a deficit of UAH 15.2 billion in Q2, which reflected an increase of up to UAH 24.5 billion in the state budget deficit and a decrease in the surplus of local budgets to UAH 9.4 billion.

The NBU said the source of deficit financing were funds from a single treasury account and proceeds from the placement of internal treasury bonds.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the state budget deficit in the first half of 2016 amounted to UAH 35.1 billion. According to the NBU, the budget deficit in June was estimated at UAH 8.6 billion.
