Ukraine`s central bank hopes for three IMF loan tranches by year-end

Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Dmytro Solohub says Ukraine may receive three loan tranches from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) by the end of this year.
”Currently the program is based on late March indicators. The decision on the disbursement of the next tranche will be taken in July. The review based on July indicators is supposed to take place in September, and a decision in the wake of September results is expected in December. The standard practice of the IMF program envisages two more reviews in addition to the ongoing one,” he said.
Asked whether Ukraine would get three [IMF] tranches by the end of the year, he answered: ”It is planned so.”
Solohub also forecasts the disbursement of the new tranche as early as in July.
”From the technical point of view, it is done very fast. It takes just few days to transfer money after the [IMF] Executive Board`s decision,” he added.
