Ukraine`s central bank allows int`l organizations to provide humanitarian assistance to individuals with e-money

The National Bank of Ukraine has enhanced its regulation of the use of e-money, according to the NBU website.
The NBU has improved the regulation of the activities on the use of electronic money, extending the range of services of banks-issuers of electronic money to individuals, according to the NBU`s statement published on its website with reference to its Regulation No.358, which comes into effect tomorrow, July 30.
The central bank explains that the regulation authorizes international organizations to provide humanitarian assistance to individuals with electronic money, as well as enhances the procedure for submission of applications to the National Bank by banks planning to issue e-money, which will improve the efficiency of review of these applications.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the amount of transactions for payment for goods, works and services using electronic money in Ukraine in 2015 amounted to UAH 3.2 billion, according to the NBU. As of January 1, 2016, the banks-issuers of e-money released into circulation some UAH 30.7 million worth of e-money, with the total number of e-wallets of users reaching 40 million, of which 26.5 million were active e-wallets.
