Ukraine`s banking system posts UAH 7.7 bln loss in 1Q

The banking system of Ukraine including the insolvent financial institutions has recorded a UAH 7,740 billion loss in the first quarter of 2016, the bank records say that are published by the National Bank of Ukraine for the first quarter according to International Financial Reporting Standards.
According to the data published, solvent banks` share of losses is estimated at UAH 8,550 billion.
The group of state-owned banks accounted for UAH 1,216 billion of loss, including four of six banks reporting profit.
A group of banks of the foreign banking groups recorded a UAH 6.418 billion loss, including 17 of the 25 banks making profit.
Both groups of banks with Ukrainian capital accounted for UAH 916.9 million in loss, while 60 of 78 banks completed the quarter with a profit.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the banking system of Ukraine including the insolvent financial institutions posted a UAH 77.935 billion loss in 2015. The solvent banks reported a UAH 71.891 billion loss and the insolvent financial institutions posted a UAH 6.044 billion loss.
