Ukraine, Turkey sign off 1st deal on production of radar stations

Ukrainian state company Ukrinmash, which is part of Ukraine`s state-owned defense giant UkrOboronProm, and Turkish company Havelsan Hava Elektronik Sanayi have signed an agreement on cooperation in the production of passive radar stations at the facilities of UkrOboronProm, according to the press service of the concern.

The agreement was signed by Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Havelsan Taner Duvenci and Ukrinmash CEO Sergii Sliusarenko in the framework of the international exhibition ”Arms and Security-2016”, which is being held in Kyiv.

”For the first time, Ukraine and Turkey have signed such an agreement, which provides for cooperation between countries in the field of defense. The cooperation with Turkey not only provides a much more advanced product, but also opens up new markets, in particular NATO countries,” Sliusarenko said.

According to him, thanks to the successful preparatory work, a business deal has already been concluded during the exhibition.

As reported earlier, Ukrinmash signed a memorandum of cooperation with Havelsan in April.
