Ukraine to attract EUR 300 mln German loan for energy, infrastructure projects – Groysman

Ukraine intends to attract a loan from Germany in the amount of EUR 300 million for projects in the field of energy and infrastructure, Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said in an interview with ICTV Wednesday, commenting on the results of his Berlin visit.
”We discussed the investment projects. It was decided on the implementation of a EUR 300 million loan in the field of energy, infrastructure, and railways,” said Groysman. He did not specify the sources of funding but stressed that the parties had taken ”all decisions for EUR 300 million to be invested in the Ukrainian economy.”
At the same time, Groysman drew attention to the fact that German businesses are also ready to invest in Ukraine.
”I met with the German businesses, and they note that the situation is changing for the better,” said the head of Government. He recalled that in October 2015, the two governments agreed on the establishment in Ukraine of the Ukrainian-German Chamber of Commerce, which would be a tool for attracting funds into Ukraine. ”And the meetings with the businesses assured me that German business is willing to increase investment and promote cooperation,” said Groysman.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Groysman visited Germany June 27-28. Berlin has become the second foreign capital, after Washington, to be visited by the head of the Ukrainian government. Groysman held talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, as well as the heads of several ministries.
