Ukraine to apply for EU membership in 2020 – president

Ukraine plans to apply for EU membership in 2020.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said this in an interview with German television channel ARD, the press service of the head of state reported.
“We need to reform the country, improve the investment climate and implement the Association Agreement with the European Union. Seventy-five percent of Ukrainians want that,” he said.
He said that Ukrainians had defended European values and the European path of the country’s development during Euromaidan protests.
