Ukraine signs contract for supply of coal from South Africa

The Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine has already signed a contract for a monthly supply to Ukraine of 250,000 tonnes of coal from South Africa.
Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Volodymyr Hroisman said this on the Channel 5 television station, Ukrinform’s correspondent reported.
“The first contract has already been signed by the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry. They will supply 250,000 tonnes from South Africa every month,” Hroisman said.
He did not rule that contracts for coal supply could also be signed with other countries that can supply coal of the required type to Ukraine, for example, with Australia or Vietnam.
He also added that Ukraine is forced to buy coal from third countries because of the actions of terrorists in eastern Ukraine.
