Ukraine should abandon commodity-based economy, create conditions for investment – Groysman

Ukraine has to move away from commodity-based economy and create the conditions necessary to attract investment, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said during the Energy conference in Kyiv.
”Ukraine has to move away from commodity-based economy. We are not chasing the volumes of investment but we are interested in the investments to be successful,” he said.
According to Groysman, it is necessary that every dollar and euro invested in the economy of Ukraine be effective and allow creating a quality product. The Investment promotion office will be set up under the head of government in the near future, tasked with helping attract and protect investments in Ukraine, he said.
As UNIAN reported earlier, according to the calculations of the Ministry of Economic Development, Ukraine could raise up to $5 billion in direct investment in the current year, which is twice more than in 2014 and 2015.
