Ukraine makes Russia another request for extradition of political prisoners Klykh, Karpiuk

Ukraine has made Russia another request for the extradition of political prisoners Stanislav Klykh and Mykola Karpiuk, First Deputy Minister of Justice Natalia Sevostianova said in an interview with 112 Ukraine TV Channel.

According to Sevostianova, around 10 requests for the extradition of Ukrainian political prisoners have already been made to Russia.

”As of today, we have made about 10 requests. We began this process with Savchenko, but fortunately, the negotiations took place at the diplomatic level and the president was also involved. The issue was resolved quickly because Russia has a selective approach when it comes to deciding what rules it should adhere to,” she stated.

”The process is underway, so we hope these people will be extradited shortly. We can only hope for continued negotiations at this time, as we work out the political and legal aspects of the extradition rather than focusing on whether these people should have to return to serve out their sentence,” Sevostianova added.
