Ukraine resumes Russian gas imports

Ukraine has resumed natural gas imports from Russia in the amount of 43.5 million cubic meters per day, the press service of the operator of the Ukrainian gas transport system, Ukrtransgaz, has told Reuters.
“Ukraine has started receiving Russian gas. The volume of imports is around 43.5 million cubic meters per day,” Ukrtransgaz spokesman Maksym Beliavsky said.
He added that Ukraine was receiving gas through the Mozyr and Sudzha gas metering stations.
As reported, Ukraine’s national gas firm Naftogaz reported last week that it had transferred $378 million as an advance payment to Russia’s Gazprom for the purchase of one billion cubic meters of gas in December.
