Ukraine has resumed gas deliveries from Poland, totaling 0.3 million cubic meters per day, according to a spokesman for the country`s gas transportation system (GTS) operator Ukrtransgaz.
To replenish its gas stocks ahead of the heating season, from July 16, Ukraine has increased gas imports from Slovakia fourfold, up to 8.8 million cubic meters, and resumed gas imports from Poland, Ukrtransgaz press secretary Maksym Bilyavskiy wrote on Facebook.
”Ukraine on Saturday resumed gas supplies from Poland to 0.3 million cubic meters a day and once again increased fourfold its imports from Slovakia to 8.8 million cubic meters a day,” Bilyavskiy wrote.
According to Slovakia`s GTS operator Eustream, on July 18, Ukraine filed an application for the import of 7.8 million cubic meters of gas.
As UNIAN reported earlier, following the conclusion of the heating season in Ukraine, the country stopped taking gas from its underground storage facilities. Storages were being refilled since April 7.
Naftogaz of Ukraine intends to accumulate some 14.5 billion cubic meters of gas ahead of the upcoming heating season in the country`s underground storage facilities.
