Thirteen Ukrainian soldiers were reported to have been killed in action (KIA`s), and another 59 wounded in action (WIA`s), inside the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone (ATO) in eastern Ukraine in the past six days, according to a Ukrainian Member of Parliament.
”In the past six days, Ukraine lost 13 soldiers in the ATO zone. Fifty-nine were wounded,” Secretary of the Verkhovna Rada`s National Security and Defense Committee, MP Ivan Vinnyk, said in parliament on Tuesday, a UNIAN correspondent reported.
Vinnyk also pointed to an increased escalation in the war zone. ”They`re firing at us using large-caliber artillery,” he added.
Two Ukrainian soldiers were killed just on Monday, July 12, while four others were wounded, according to a statement from ATO headquarters.
