Ukraine reports 1 killed, 8 wounded in past 24 hours

One Ukrainian soldier was killed and eight others were wounded in fighting in eastern Ukraine in the past 24 hours, according to Ukrainian Defense Ministry spokesman for Anti-Terrorist Operation issues Andriy Lysenko.

”One was killed in action (KIA) and eight were wounded in action (WIA),” he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Monday, an UNIAN correspondent reported.

According to Lysenko, the soldier was killed during a skirmish in the village of Verkhniotoretske.

Four fighters were wounded amid shelling of the town of Avdiyivka, while another one was injured amid an attack on Butivka coal mine, one in an attack on Verkhniotoretske and other two in the village of Luhanske.

Lysenko also elaborated on the enemy`s losses.

”On October 26, the bodies of twenty occupiers were brought to the morgue of the city of Donetsk. They are mainly from the so-called 100th brigade of the Russian occupation troops,” he said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 54 times in the past 24 hours.
