Ukraine not using ballistic missiles against terrorists – National Security and Defense Council

Ukraine is not firing ballistic missiles at terrorists, because they are not in service in the country.
National Security and Defense Council information and analytical center spokesman Andriy Lysenko said this at a briefing on Wednesday, a Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“The ATO forces have enough effective weapons using which we manage to destroy terrorists and liberate our land,” Lysenko said.
He added that Ukraine does not have in service any ballistic missiles of the necessary range. “The last rocket considered ballistic according to the international classification and has a range of 500 to 1000 kilometers was disposed of in Ukraine on July 1, 1996 under a program funded by the United States,” Lysenko said.
CNN reported on July 29, citing sources in the U.S. special services, that in the past two days Ukrainian troops allegedly used small-range ballistic missiles against militants in eastern Ukraine. According to the TV channel, the issue concerns missiles equipped with 454-kg warheads with a range of 80 kilometers.
