Ukraine needs additional four million tonnes of coal – Yatseniuk

Ukraine needs an additional four million tonnes of coal by the end of 2014.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said this during a conference call with the leaders of regional state administrations on Wednesday, a Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“As for coal, the situation remains difficult. We estimate that by the end of this year we will need an additional four million tonnes of coal,” he said.
He said that the first batch of 84,000 tonnes from South Africa had already passed through the Bosphorus Strait.
“Of course, the price [of coal from South Africa] is much higher than the cost of our coal from Luhansk and Donetsk. Russian terrorists intentionally bombed our railway tracks and mines to endanger Ukraine’s energy system,” he said.
