Ukraine invites international observers to monitor gas transit from Russia

Ukraine is ready to attract international observers to monitor and control the volume of Russian gas supplied to Europe.
Naftogaz of Ukraine CEO Andriy Kobolev said this in Brussels on Tuesday, a Ukrinform correspondent in Brussels reported.
“The Western media have been discussing for several months whether there are Russian troops in eastern Ukraine. And a few months passed when the observers arrived there and saw everything with their own eyes. The situation with gas is the same. Gas is an element of a large-scale conflict between Russia and Ukraine. We invite international observers to monitor gas flow,” Kobolev said.
He said that the Ukrainian side had not been siphoning off Russian gas from gas pipelines.
Kobolev also said that recent events had undermined the trust between Naftogaz and Gazprom and it would take more than a year to restore it.
