Ukraine, Indonesia agree to begin consultations on free trade area

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and his Indonesian counterpart Joko Widodo have agreed to begin consultations on a free trade area between the two countries, according to the Ukrainian president`s administration.

”We`ve agreed to begin consultations on FTA with President Widodo,” Poroshenko said in an interview to CNN Indonesia.

Poroshenko stressed that Indonesia is an important partner of Ukraine in Southeast Asia.

The countries have a great potential of cooperation in many spheres. ”Ukraine can become a platform providing access to the European market for Indonesian investors,” he said.
