Ukraine imports record volume of gas from Slovakia

On October 22 Ukraine imported a record 42.016 million cubic meters of natural gas from Slovakia, according to the press service of PJSC Ukrtransgaz, ZN.ua reported.

The previous maximum figures for gas imports from Slovakia throughout the 26-month history of this reverse gas supplies were recorded Oct 21 (41.859 million cubic meters) and Oct 5 (41.627 million cubic meters).

In general, between Oct 1 and Oct 22, Ukraine imported from Europe 1.077 billion cubic meters of gas, including 897.5 mcm from Slovakia, 92.8 mcm from Poland, and 86.9 mcm from Hungary.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Naftogaz of Ukraine CEO Andriy Kobolev recently reassured that the company had sufficient gas reserves for the successful passage of the heating season 2016-2017.
