Ukraine gets European Union`s second tranche of financial aid worth EUR 55 mln

Ukraine has received the second tranche of the financial assistance of the European Union in the amount of EUR 55.125 million in the framework of a financing agreement signed between the Government of Ukraine and the European Commission in 2014.

As reported on the website of the Ministry of Finance, these funds represent the second and final tranche under this agreement. Ukraine received the first tranche under this agreement in the amount of EUR 250 million in July 2014.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the equivalent of received funds in the national currency, as well as funds of the first tranche, will be used for expenditure financing of the general fund of the state budget.

The Ministry of Finance has stressed that the receipt of this financial assistance is another step towards deepening cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union.

It is also noted that the funds were allocated according to the European Commission`s assessment of reforms in Ukraine in the fight against corruption, public procurement, public financial management, public administration, administrative services, constitutional reform, harmonization of the electoral law and the legislation on the financing of political parties.
