Ukraine extracts 10 bln cubic meters of gas in 6 months

Ukraine boosted its natural gas production in January-June 2016 by 2% year-over-year, or 200 million cubic meters, to 10 billion cubic meters (bcm), according to Ukrtransgaz, the operator of the gas transportation system and underground storage facilities of natural gas.
The company noted that the data was provided excluding the annexed Crimea and the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone.
Consumption of natural gas in Ukraine in January-June 2016 was reduced by 12.5% y-o-y from 18.4 bcm to 16.1 bcm.
As reported earlier, last year Ukraine reduced natural gas production by 3.1% as compared with 2014, to 19.2 bcm. In 2014, natural gas production stood at 19.7 bcm. In 2013, Ukraine extracted 20.4 billion cubic meters of gas.
