Ukraine exports over 17 mln tonnes of grain

Ukrainian agrarians from the beginning of 2016-2017 marketing year (July 2016 – June 2017) have already exported more than 17 million tonnes of grain, according to the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.

In particular, 9.6 million tonnes of wheat, 3.4 million tonnes of corn and about 4 million tonnes of barley were exported.

In addition, during the reporting period, the agrarians exported 131,500 tonnes of flour, of which 131,100 tonnes is wheat flour and 4,000 tonnes are other types of this product.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine`s exports in the 2015-2016 marketing year were at a record high. Farmers exported 39.4 million tonnes against 34.8 million tonnes in the 2014-2015 marketing year. Ukraine`s Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food forecasts that Ukrainian farmers will export 41 million tonnes of grain in the 2016-2017 MY.

The ministry projects that the total yield of grain in Ukraine in 2016 will be about 64 million tonnes.
