Ukraine, EU, Russia agree on gas supply in winter season

Ukraine, the EU and Russia have completed negotiations on temporary conditions of Russian natural gas supply in the winter season, Ukrinform’s correspondent in Brussels has reported.
The negotiators reached agreement by signing two documents: a trilateral protocol between the governments of Ukraine, Russia and the European Commission, and an additional agreement to the contract between NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine and OJSC Gazprom.
The documents were signed by Energy and Coal Industry Minister Yuriy Prodan on behalf of the Ukrainian government and by Naftogaz CEO Andriy Kobolev on behalf of Naftogaz.
The arrangements will be in effect until March 31, 2015.
As reported, Gazprom said earlier that Ukraine and Russia had agreed on a temporary gas price.
“The price of gas for Ukraine has been agreed at $378 per 1,000 cubic meters in the fourth quarter of 2014 and at $365 per 1,000 cubic meters in the first quarter of 2015,” the Russian company said on Twitter on Thursday.
