Ukraine. EU begin implementation of association

On November 1, 2014, provisional implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU begins. Separate sections of this document will take effect before completion of ratification of the Agreement by all EU Member States.

“Despite the provisional implementation of the Agreement, the said document since its signing is an impetus for Ukraine and the core of the integrated program of large-scale internal reforms in all spheres of political, economic and social life of our country,” the Ukrainian government noted.
The Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU will fully enter into force after its ratification by all parties.
The Cabinet recalled that on September 17 the government approved the Action Plan for implementation of the Association Agreement 2014-2017, realization of which will ensure effective preparation of the state, primarily, to work in conditions of free trade with the EU, and fulfilment of obligations to provide the rule of law, human rights, overcoming corruption, reforming the judicial and law enforcement system, public financial management and public procurement.
As reported, September 16, 2014, Ukraine and the European Parliament ratified the Agreement. To date, the following EU countries ratified this document: Romania – July 2, Lithuania – July 8, Latvia – July 14, Bulgaria – July 24, Malta – August 21, Slovakia – September 24.
