Ukraine counts savings due to ProZorro e-procurement system

Ukrainian Minister of Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv says the state has saved about UAH 1.5 billion during 14 months since the introduction of the ProZorro e-procurement system.
”We have managed to save about UAH 1.5 billion during 14 months since the introduction of the ProZorro e-procurement system. More than 100,000 tenders have been conducted with 5,800 buyers joining the system,” the minister said at a government meeting on June 1.
In turn, Deputy Minister Maksym Nefyodov stated while presenting the results of the ProZorro system during the two months after the entry into force of the law on electronic public procurements that savings made up 14% of the total tender amount.
”Average savings with regard to those tenders that have been conducted during the last two months make up 14%, which is consistent with the earlier figure [when ProZorro system was operating in a pilot mode],”Nefyodov said.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the Verkhovna Rada on December 25, 2015, passed a bill obliging ministries and large-sized state companies to handle all their state procurements via the newly created ProZorro e-system as of April 1, 2016. Other state companies and state agencies are planned to be transferred to the system as of August 1, 2016.
The World Procurement Awards has given its Public Sector Award to Ukraine`s ProZorro e-procurement system.
Estimated savings due to the use of the e-procurement system as of the end of this year are projected at UAH 5 billion, and at UAH 50 billion in 2017.
