Ukraine border guards recommend not traveling to occupied Crimea after FSB provocation

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine recommends not traveling to the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea due to the tense situation on the peninsula, which has been escalated by the Russian occupiers, Ukrainian Border Guard Service press secretary Oleh Slobodyan said at a briefing on Thursday, a UNIAN correspondent reported.

”Taking into account the tense situation on the peninsula, which has been escalated by the occupiers in recent days, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine urges citizens to refrain from traveling to occupied Crimea unless there is urgent need,” he stated.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on August 10, the Russian Federal Security Service declared it had prevented terrorist attacks in Crimea, which were reportedly organized by ”officers of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.”

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said Russia`s accusations of terrorism against Ukraine were fantasy and served merely as a pretext for more military threats against the country.
