Ukraine has 12.7bcm of gas left in reserves

Ukraine`s natural gas reserves in its underground storage facilities between Dec 9 and Dec 16 shrunk by 2.7%, or 355 million cubic meters – from 13.082 billion cubic meters down to 12.727 bcm, according to the national gas transport system operator Ukrtransgaz.

According to the company data, 62.4 million cubic meters of gas was pumped out of Ukraine`s USFs on December 16.

As UNIAN reported earlier, in September 2016, the government approved the schedule of preparation for the heating season and determined the required volumes of gas at 17 bcm to ensure the consumer needs.

At the same time, according to the estimates by Naftogaz, 14.5 bcm of gas is enough for the safe passage of the heating season.

On October 16, Ukraine stopped pumping gas into the country`s USFs.
