U.S. Special Envoy for Human Rights of LGBTI Persons to visit Ukraine

Special Envoy for the Human Rights of LGBTI Persons Randy Berry will visit Kyiv, Ukraine, on June 7- 8.
”June 7- 8, Special Envoy Berry will visit Kyiv, Ukraine, to participate in the country`s Pride Festival and meet with various civil society organizations and government officials,” according to a statement, published on the official website of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine.
Before his visit to Ukraine, Berry will travel to Ottawa, Canada, June 1 – 2 to participate in a panel session at the ”Dignity Initiative LGBTI Human Rights Globally Conference.” The Conference aims to exchange information and develop common strategies for Canada`s role in advancing the human rights of LGBTI persons globally. Leading Canadian officials and civil society representatives will join the Conference and SE Berry will share the U.S. experience in advancing human rights globally.
Berry will also travel to Bologna, Italy, June 3-5 to participate in Transgender Europe`s 6th European Transgender Council. On June 4, he will deliver remarks at the Council`s anniversary dinner. He will also meet with transgender advocates from across Europe.
